Born and raised in Wilson, North Carolina, he was brought up on a farm.

He was not too keen about creating content for online consumption at first but Melody Willoughby, one of his friends, convinced him to download Vine and post content there.

Alx was interested in several sports while growing up and had even played for the junior Olympic volleyball team for about 18 months. He was even offered a scholarship to play college volleyball but declined to pursue a career in online entertainment.

He participated in and reached the Holywood round of the popular singing-based reality TV series American Idol for 2 years in succession. However, he could not continue his journey due to illness both those years.

His growing popularity has also earned him cameo and supporting acting roles in a few TV series such as The Genderly Confused and Joe Show, Lab Coats: Life After The Zombie Apocalypse, and Internet Challenges.
